Hortiwool utilizes the naturally-occuring properties of wool to create an ideal environment for growing plants. It wicks moisture from its surroundings to feed roots, provides insulation for tender root systems so you can plant earlier in the season, and it is 100% biodegradable, breaking down naturally when planted in the soil, and becoming part of the plant’s total nutrition.

Its permeability and moisture retention make Hortiwool versatile enough to line hanging baskets or to use as capillary matting for self-watering seed starter systems. You can also extend your planting season by using Hortiwool as mulch on top of the soil or wrapping it around plant roots before they go in the ground. And growing microgreens with Hortiwool is a cinch! Simply lay a section of Hortiwool in a shallow dish of water, spread your microgreen seeds and — that’s it! After you’ve harvested your itty-bitty bounty, you can flip the Hortiwool over and sprout a new batch using the other side. Growing with Hortiwool is a shear delight!
